Sort of a mystery bowl right now: it's been packed in my favorite unmarked billiard for so long, I forgot what the base tobacco is but am 95% sure it is Aylesbury Sir John's Flake Virginia. I definitely added some Perique to it. Noticed the bowl was too firmly packed, so I reloaded most of it into my one Savinelli. Very nice. After a few puffs, I'm pretty sure this is the Sir John's.

To the remnants of the Sir John's, I added about an equal amount of F&T Vintage Flake, and a good ...

I'm not sure why, but my work computer blocks almost every picture jroog posts... 90% of them come from a website called Ebaums World. I’ve been going there forever though some of it is pretty crass.

ah. that makes sense. must be that blasted 'pretty crass' filter. Only some of it! Like, you know, any website.

The Official Super Bowl Commercial Thread

I only looked at the first three pages of this thread. Did jroog survey every single commercial? Maybe we should put an * by his post count number...

I was pretty disappointed in the commercials this year. Show me the funny! I half laughed at one commercial (Where the old lady shoots the kid like a slingshot to get the chips) and that's it. The rest were either stupid, boring, or I had to cover my children's eyes!

yeah... this year was very disappointing.

+JMJ+I grew up in Alaska. As a baby I lived with my folks and an older brother and sister in a little cabin on a homestead near Willow. Hand pump for water, and an outhouse in back. Wood stove for heat.
Hitching to Denali, I camped overnight off the road in Willow. All I remember of the "town" was some restaurant/bar (maybe it was an inn as well) and a "post office" PO Box shed.

Wow. I never did hitch in Alaska. We moved away when I was 14.

I guess this all came t ...

Because most new things don't.
I like my old pipes.
I like my old camera.
I like my old shotgun.
I like my old books.
I like my old car.
I like my old mule.
I like my old brandy.
I find these things interesting. New stuff is nice enough, but I just can't seem to get excited over new shapes of pipes, digital cameras, plastic guns, formulated stories, electric cars, breaking in new critters, or sipping liqour flavored to not taste like, well, liqour.
Do you ever feel that way? Is this ...
