What would be the motivation for innovation? Seriously? This is the problem we have today, our thinking is so absolutely skewed in one direction that people can't even imagine innovation occurring without IP law. The motivation for innovation is solving a problem or improving something so it works better for you. The fashion industry thrives despite a lack of IP protection.

I think there are a lot of accidents. But to have a happy accident one has to innovate and there needs to be an ...

Since we are talking guns and all...thought I'd ask how to carry concealed.

I'm fat. Some of ya'll know that and I don't really care. I don't plan to lose weight either. I am 5'-6" and 290 lbs. 8O Don't give me any lectures cuz I already know. I could teach classes on health, fitness, and weight loss.

Back to the subject. I am apple shaped. Fat apple that is. I have the typical gut hanging over the belt. The holster that came with my XD has the pistol sticking ou ...

Is it a sin to cuss / swear / curse?

As others have said, it's not the 'word', it's the 'intent'.

If I write a paper on the use of the N*word (and use the word itself in the paper), that's not sinful, even though I am "using a cuss word". Likewise, if every time someone cuts me off in traffic, I say "go puck yourself" for the sake of avoiding a cuss word, I'm not doing myself any favors. The intent is there, and it's just as bad.

Luigi Viprati is having a trunk show at De La Concha on August 2.

What do you say to a meet up?

Here's the email from De La Concha:

For those who are already in the ranks of the fellowship of the briar and for those who are briar curious, De La Concha is pleased to announce a pipe show on August 2nd. There is no better way to celebrate the 'Art of the Briar' than with a pipe show featuring the creations of Luigi Viprati.

On Monday August 2, De La Concha will host a Viprati pipe ...

Well my wife liked it until we got married. Not so much any more. Whenever I smoke at a coffee shop I usually have my Alaskain Malamute with me. Between him and my pipe I can't keep the ladies away. I've had ladies ask me to go home with them to smoke my pipe in thief house because it smells so good. I also get that it reminds them of their grandfather a lot. My wife laughs!

BMH(Before Mrs. Hovannes) I had an Irish Setter and I'd smoke my pipe on our walks around the local upscale shoppin ...

.38 spec vs. .45 acp

Just for the record, I'm green with envy over this:

My bedside gun is a dead stock Colt 1911 mil-spec.

It's my off duty gun that's on loan from the Sheriff's Department. If I'm lucky I can keep it when I retire. It's actually from WWII and was an arsenal refinished gun. I looked up the serial number and it was either issued to someone in Patton's 3rd Army or the 6th Army. Awesome history behind it as well. Someone might be reluctant to shoot it but I'm not.
