I just ordered several tins of Marlin Flake and Escudo from www.jrcigars.com , and also 1lb bulk Full VA Flake & 2lb bulk McClelland's 5100 from www.smokingpipes.com - I plan on "canning" the bulk stuff, and saving the tins for a few years. My cellar is growing nicely, but it sure is hard to have all of it staring back at me and knowing I have to wait for a loooooong time before I can smoke it :D

I have only had one bowl of it. I bought some for my father for christmas and tried a bowl but cannot really offer a decent opinion based on that.

I asked him what he thought of it and he said he did not really care for it, however, he is a latakia fan and that blend is flake virginia topped with a little rum. Not really his thing. I thought I would order some and try it out.

hey Dave,

My little brother is in the Air Force. I guess he would be Airman Chris Crosby, stationed in Texas. He is part of the Information Warfare Division or something like that. Basicly he is a computer geek.

I just now ordered another pound each of McClelland 5100 and 2010. I also threw on a tin of snuff.

I don't know if Mike at Mars Cigar get a tax refund but if not, he is getting a chunk of mine lol.

Had to stock up for Cuba... I'm glad I did.

Have you tried the FMATP yet? I picked up my first tin a couple days ago but haven't popped it yet. Probably this weekend.

FMATP is the best of the FM line so far. IT's GREAT!!! The smell is rather interesting, in the tin, reminding me of Heinz57 BBQ sauce. It don't smoke like that, though.

What was your last tobacco purchase?

Post by Gregg1160h » Sat Aug 07, 2004 11:52 pm

Picked up Two 50g Tins of Dunhill Early Morning Pipe :D when I got past JR Outlets in North Carolina. $4.50 a tin and there is room beside or in front of all three of their stores to park a tractor trailer. Selma NC(I95, exit 97) sells latakia, bright virginia ribbon, 965 and a couple others 8) loose at $1.50 an oz, blend your own.

Last Tobacco Purchase

Post by LtMac » Tue Aug 10, 2004 12:45 am

I recently ordered and received a sample pack of eight 2 ounce tins of the old-fashioned House of Windsor blends. I also had a craving for different tobaccos than normal and purchased 2 aromatics; McClellans bulk Columbian Mocha and Tinder Box bulk Chocolate Treat. Unfortunately, I've been so busy that I haven't tried any of them yet.
I'm looking forward to sitiing down to relax and try them soon.

LtMac,

You should try out Tinderbox bulk North Sea and Chairman's mixture. Those two are my top-o-the-line everyday smokes. They're great, cool, semi-sweet but not too sweet, flavorful baccos.

I'm a big fan of the Tinderboxs "Norse Gold" blend. It's a VA based aromatic that is good for when I want a change of pace from my straight VA's.
