Its nice to see a forum where people admit to smoking aromatics! :D I just got a few ounces of that new Peanutbutter bulk from Altadis... It burns a little warm but tastes great!

I'm buying up tins for cellaring in case Kerry wins, and outlaws tobacco (along with guns, the space program, the armed forces, the American flag and the Constitution). Within recent weeks I have acquired: McClelland's Frog Morton, Benjamin Hartwell's Evening Stroll, Butera's Dark Stoved, C&D's Mississippi Mud, Samuel Gawith's Balkan Flake and McClelland's British Woods.

I wouldn't be so worried about the Constitution - nobody has paid any attention to it in 30 years.

I recently ordered tins of Field and Stream and Barking Dog, both old revived recipes from House of Windsor, and both quite tasty. I favor FandS, and it will likely become one of my regular blends. Also recently tried the House of Windsor aromatics -- Black Cherry, Honey, Classic Cavendish, and Chocolate Cream. I liked them all and did not find they burned hot like so many aromatics do. Another good aromatic I like is Rattray's Terry Red, a blend of Light Virginia and Black Cavendish, flavored with rum, ginger, and cherry. Heavenly aroma in the tin and very nice in the room. Although I like aromatics, I tend to smoke English blends and non-aromatics more. For me, the aromatics are more like "dessert"! I like apple pie, but don't want it for the main course!

In the name of balancing inventories (and cellar building), I placed an order with JR Cigar last night for:

4 tins McClelland Christmas Cheer 2004 (finally here!!)
2 tins McClelland Blackwoods Flake
2 tins McClelland Virginia No. 27
5 tins Dunhill Nightcap
2 tins MacBaren Navy Flake
2 tins Rattray's Black Virginia
2 tins Rattray's Brown Clunee

These are strange quantities for me, but like I said, I had to balance inventories :D

I just got another order in from http://www.tobaccodirect.com and I have to commend these guys. They shipped the same day I ordered and rather than the normal 2-4 weeks delay to get into GTMO, I got the box in 7 days. Wonderful company.

I ordered

Peterson: Sunset Breeze, University Flake, Christmas Cheer '03.

Guys, just ordered a tin of GLpease renaissance, and christmas 2003 (paul olsen) and was wondering if anyone had tried either. In the box pass and if I get them before the box arrives and leaves I will add some of each. I think the christmas 2003 was supposed to be for the tin, but I wanted to try the tobacco also. samiam

Greetings gentlemen. I am not dead, just Presbyterian. Actually my father's situation has been consuming a lot of my time. He's slowly dying of cancer.
Concerning tobacco: Lately I've been smoking British Woods by McClelland, Balkan Blend and Squadron Leader by Samuel Gawith. All excellent stuff.

As for Tobacco:

I am getting ready to try some Trafalgar Square from my B/M. I think it is made by C and D. It is an English blend, so I had to wait till the house was empty, or else my wife might not appreciate it too much. :D

The hospital where we had the baby is close to my favorite tobaccinist, so I stopped in on Friday and (for me) splurged.

I got a tin of Blue Note, Christmas Cheer 2004 (kinda wishing I had bought two - I forgot to get one to let age), Conell & Diehl's Back Portch, and on oz of what they had labeled as "Sweet Va. Flake", which I think is McClellands blend but I'm not sure which.

There is a pipe shop about an hour and a half from me that i was in. They had bought out another shop that had gone out of business and were selling tins for 5 bucks a piece!

I bought

2 tins Rattray Blak VA
1 tin of McClelland Grey Havens 1998
1 tin of McClelland Va Woods 1997
1 tin CAO Patriot Flake
1 tin DaVinci
1 tin Peterson Sherlock Holmes
1 tin Rattray Brown Clunee
1 tin of McClelland #27 Va 1997

All in all, worth the trip.
John

8oz GLPease Abingdon (man, is this stuff good...quickly becoming a favorite)

16 oz Esoterica Tobacciana Penzance

8 oz Esoterica Tobacciana Margate

last but not least...16oz (2, 8oz tins) of GLPease Bohemian Scandal (Whew!! It shipped ONE day before the great catastrophe with the warehouse fire...should arrive tomorrow, according to UPS Tracking)

I've been at it again...Yes, this is my third post to this thread in less than two months, but for those who don't know, I only purchase tobacco once a year (well, several orders in the last couple of months each year), and 'Tis the season. So, when JRCigars got Marlin Flake back in, I jumped on 10 more tins of that. They always get a shipment in, and it's all gone within two days. They sell it at about 1/2 price for everyone else ($6.50 for a 100gm tin), so it goes pretty quick. I now have several years worth of it, because it's my favorite, and you never know what tomorrow brings :D ...more bans, higher prices, tobacco makers closing up shop, warehouse fires, etc. I also got a few miscellaneous tins...MacBaren Navy Flake, Nightcap, Burley London Blend. I'm still building my cellar. Although, I think I've just about reached critical mass for it. Of course, if we're raptured before I get to smoke it up...who cares, we're in Heaven, right :D :D

Oh... In that case I think it would be more that appropriate to tithe on your tobacco...

A couple blends from House of Windsor:
2 oz. tin of Revelation (supposedly Albert Einstein smoked this blend. Maybe it'll make me smarter!)
4 oz. tin of Field and Stream (I really like this one as a regular smoke)

A couple blends from Peterson's:
50 gr tin of Sherlock Holmes
50 gr tin of University Flake
