I'd like to see a list of defunct but not unmourned OTC tobaccos. I've seen a few brands fade away in my lifetime. A few that come to mind are:
  • Field & Stream
    Greenbriar
    Walnut
    China Black
    Four Seasons
    Country Doctor
    Walnut
Do any others come to mind
Edgeworth

Edgeworth was mourned. Edward G. Robinson is still made, I believe.

I mourned Sugar Barrel but I don't believe anybody else did. What about Rum and Maple?

Wonder if it still complete and utter crapola? That one was a shame, at least for me. We get asked what we're smoking a lot and my usual response is "lightly flavored marijuana" if the questioner is facetious or a straight answer if the question is serious. EGR would seemingly give me the option of only one answer: that, of course, being "Edward G. Robinsons Blend, see?"

Unfortunately, it stunk on ice. I've often wanted to retry it, considering some 18-20 years have passed since I tried it and my tastes/skills might have changed. Or I might end with a pound of unsmokeable tobacco.

Good News: SmokingPipes is selling 1.75 oz tins now. Bad News: It's made by Sutliff.

I have never had a sample of Sutcliffe anything that induced me to purchase a tin. Thanks for the warning.

I'm still unashamedly interested in the grape CAPT Black, but every time I go to pull the trigger I remember that money doesn't grow on trees and I've been wearing long pants for 30 years now.

LOL! I want to try the grape as well but manage to talk myself out of it each time. The other day I got a wild hair and searched every place in Lubbock that sells tobacco for it--including 7-11. No joy.

I'm convinced it's an exclusive product. We have tried rhe same thing. And you know, when I can get my regulars at around three dollars an ounce locally, why bother?

I could be convinced to go halves or thirds on a canister, but I think the actual price once you go through all the postal difficulty would be silly.

Has anyone here had the stuff?

Damn it all, I'll just buy one and send out samples.

Give me a bit to work out the specifics.

Now that I've smoked Carter Hall back to back with Chatham Manor and Prince Albert with Prince Andrew, I can say that the Mid Town clones, though passable, are not as good or, at least, that I do not enjoy them as much.

I concur. Two bowls of Prince Andrew and I traded the rest. I also just smoked two bowls of C&D Big N Burley and it was sublime. 6 years in the can and it was like an earthy dark chocolate covered nut. Fantastic!

Just opened a tub of Chatham Manor that I acquired recently from P&C during their IPSD reboot.

Smoking it in a Taiwanese bamboo bowl pipe which was a gift from Kaydens at the Chicago Pipe Show 2017. (He gave all of us few who were attending some of these excellent bamboo pokers -- Asian folk pipes, akin to American cobs.)

Although I packed it a bit too tightly, it is a very satisfying morning-coffee smoke.

Found the last bits of a luxury pouch of PA in the back of a desk drawer. Good stuff.
