Prince Albert

Post by SteveH » Mon Sep 28, 2015 4:21 pm

God, I love this stuff! I don't know why you Merkins whinge about not being able to get St Bruno, when you've got P.A. I will definitely be troubling 4Noggins for more, on a regualr basis. Not so keen on SWR, though - it's a bit thin and sour to my taste.
I don't bother with a Jacuzzi - I just fart in the bath.

The Prince is mighty good stuff. As for desiring that which you can't (easily) have, I think it was Jesus himself who said 'The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence'.

You are half right. It was actually Jesus Gonzalez of "JG Lawncare and Tree Service"
I wonder if Steve (an Englishman after all) will get the joke?

The Prince is the best I know of for building cake in a new pipe. :pipe2:

I had to google, but I now know that Jesus Gonzalez is a boxer. The joke works without knowing that, though.

Yeah, but it's utter BS. He wants to believe that. I think we should let him believe it but we don't have to.

Steve, what causes cake to form? Where in your pipe bowls do you see cake? There is a big ring at the top of the bowl and then smaller rings below. It's not uniform in the bowl unless you do something to even it out. Why isn't it even or uniform? Hint: it's connected to something you do, and it's not a property specific to a particular blend. It would be much more even if it was the blend. Though the blend or its packing may make you do more of the activity.
A mood rises just to have.

Though it is not too sweet, the citreous marble design is refreshing womanfully, and a mood rises just to have.

The thickness of the cake wasn't the only feature of the cake I was referring to, old chap. I've built cake using aros, Lats and Orientals and they add dubious flavors while the Prince makes for a quick, neutral cake which doesn't compete with whatever tobacco you later choose to puff away on. Nor did I suggest that the Prince's cake was going to be uniform, only that it can be built up quickly, more quickly than any other geezer tobacco I've tried.Exactly how uniform the cake is of course up to the nut at the opposite end. Try it yourself, if you dare.

These are surprisingly strong words from a man oft relegated to smoking rabbit tobacco fertilized with jungle rot and assorted feces. :pipe2:
Don't knock the rabbit turd tobacco until you try it, :pho: random bowl of noodles.

I don't know about the problems of international tobacco importation....

But Russ Ouellette at PipesAndCigars has done a masterful job of copying the codger burleys at very deliciously affordable prices.

His clone of PA is called Prince Andrew.
My favorite was Chatham Manor, a copy of Carter Hall.

We did a turn at buying a tub of each, splitting it out and passing around for reviews.

I'm going to a Prince themed wedding in Disneyland.

Good for you SteveH. Prince Albert is a wonderful tobacco. There are so many reasons to like it, I think you'll find that it will become your default smoke. At least it would if you lived over here. :D

I think St B. will remain my default smoke, but Prince A. will be the reserve default.
