Do you have any other writings by Willard that you would recommend?

I'm going to have to re-read this; there's a lot to this. It seems to be spot on and exactly the kind of thing I need.

The Divine Conspiracy is easily my favourite by him . . . though that may be because it was also my introduction to him years ago.

#2 would be The Great Omission.

I also used The Spirit of the Disciplines a couple years ago for a sermon series I was doing on disciplines. I very much enjoyed it.

I've been wanting to read both Renovation of the Heart and Hearing God for a while.

I just finished a book and don't know if I should start Expositional Preaching by David R. Helm or Give Them Grace by Elyse M. Fitzpatrick and Jessica Thompson.

Finished Expositional Preaching and starting Give Them Grace. Next on the list after that is Discerning Your Call to Ministry by Jason K. Allen

I'll put those on my "to read" list.

As you might guess Renovation of the Heart really dives into having your heart right towards God. I've found it helpful in pointing out areas/attitudes in my heart that are a little lax (or in my case VERY lax) with God.

Willard sets the standard high and explains "why".

A rather interesting study of American history, the US Constituion, Law Enforcement, societal norms, politics, ... and a bunch more.

The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett; also a play adaptation of the same. I'm playing Yorkshire gardener Ben Weatherstaff. After that I get to play God (a recording) and Noah in a dramatic dance recital. Granddaughter Lucy will be a monkey! She'll steal the show.

"A Pilgrim for Freedom," by Michael Novakovic. 239 pgs. Pub. 2016. It is a real-life story of how an eleven-year old boy from the ancient city of Split, on the Adriatic coast, who with his family left almost everything when the Nazis and Fascists invaded their homeland at the beginning of WWII, grew up to be a United States soldier and highly successful American businessman. "....it is a rich-to-rags-to-riches story that testifies both to the resilience of one man and to the ideals of the nation that inspired him.

I'm using it as my go to sleep bed-time read. Based upon having reached page 146, at this point I would recommend it. This young boy and man did not have a lazy bone in his body! Amazing inspiration for not giving up...ever!

"Mixed Bag", by Jim Rikhoff. I've only read the dedication page, and had to set the book down to keep my teardrops from soiling the page. I'll pick it back up later this evening.

There's some good reading in this book, but I somehow misplaced it. I've looked all over the house, car and truck. Can't locate it.

So, I've picked up one I started a while back and put down, "The Secrets of Story", by Matt Bird.

Found and completed Mixed Bag, by Rikhoff. A great pleasure to read; this guy really had the gift of gab.

Back into Steve Meyer's San Juan River Chronicles, now, and taking notes.

Most of Plato are the dialogues of Socrates. The important conversations of Socrates with the people that he encounters. Like reading some short plays.
