Night time thunderstorm over the Pacific Ocean. Amazing image made by a commercial airline pilot. The stars are visible

A 3 month old South American Suri Alpaca, with blue eyes. A baby alpaca is called a "cria." One just like this little guy was along with the Culpepper and Merriweather Circus that just visited our tiny town.

This one reminds me of our sock puppets.

In February I planted a Tangerine Cross Vine on the south side of the house, in hopes that with care, it will look like this, one day soon. This spot had been stark looking ever since an over grown Organ Pipe Cactus was removed the year before.

Good call. (Though I'd seen Thom's FB posts/tags earlier today and wondered...)

But I see the resemblance.
Not Judy Chicago, either; although, I wouldn't turn down an invitation to her Dinner Party.

It's mine.

I'm sorry, I couldn't resist. It's a wonderful photo, very crips and clear. I'm restless now.

Every summer my wife spends virtually all of her "hobby" time tending her gardens, and I go crazy photographing them.
Here's another of her day lilies--my favorite flowers, except, maybe, for orchids.

The camera was a Fuji X E1.
The lens for both of these photos was the Fuji XF 60mm f/2.4 macro.

Natural light.

ISO was set at 200, camera tripod mounted, aperture priority--choosing the aperture to get the depth of field I want and letting the camera select the shutter speed. With the tripod, shutter speed is irrelevant (unless it's breezy). I try to shoot flowers on calm days.

Aperture for the first one was likely f/16 or f/22; second one f/5.6 or f/8, and I don't recall the camera-selected shutter speeds.
(1/3 stop over/under bracket.)

The first one was Photoshopped to isolate the flower against a digitally created black background and a digital filter was used to soften some detail. The second image is pretty much what came out of the camera.

When I have some time I'll dig up the files on my computer if you want more info, Skip. These two images were already uploaded to my Photobucket account. These are compressed files.

If I can stop buying pipes, my next camera will be another Fuji. Next one, full frame.

I used to work medium format and a 4X5 view camera when I was shooting film.
All that gear is long gone.
