It's supposed to be a bit cooler, starting today.
Upper 80s for highs mid 40s and 50s for lows in the coming week.

Evenings and mornings should be absolutely lovely.

Thunder storms rolled through and drenched everything two or three times & now it's down to 16C (60F) with a low of 9C (49F) forecast overnight. Nippy for summer. Not great camping weather yet. We're not lacking for rain lately.

We've settled into a new period of weather with much lower temps, but (relatively) higher dew point and humidity. It appears that monsoon season has arrived. But I do not see any T-storms in the foreseeable future.

1:30 pm

Clear
Heat Index 97 °F
Dew Point 43 °F
Humidity 14%

Much better than we had it a week or so ago.

On Tuesday, June 20, the high here was 118, and the low, 85. These were days when it was 130 in Death Valley.

118 is the highest temp I'd ever seen here. Before that, a couple days in July 2007 were 117.

The Monsoon prelude higher humidity and dew point has retreated, as Monsoon itself sometimes does,...

Dew Point 22 °F

Nice cool southerly breeze last evening on the front patio happy hour w/ pipe. A few Monsoon precursor clouds portend it's arrival.

Today, at 9 am,...

Clear
Heat Index 91 °F
Dew Point 62 °F
Humidity 39%

Both humidity and dew point are "monsoonish."

We'll begin to be skirted by some monsoon thunderstorms and lower temps early next week, but before that, the heat is being turned up again. 112 here on Friday; 118 in Phoenix.

Friday night softball season ended last week.

My wife does have softball on Sunday for the start of the tournament--- so one more week after that for that league.

Then summer hits for sure...

It's raining a little bit.

Sunsets on the gulf coast of Florida are nice and all, but we just had one of those green sky evenings - that turned orange, then pink, then purple - that you don't see everywhere. If there's anything that makes me believe in an intelligent creator, it's evening like this. Not that they occur, but that I find them so enchanting.

Hot hot hot and humid. Well 90F anyways. And some possible tornado activity to the west in my home area.

89 on the back deck with a 99 heat index. There's enough of a breeze that I still think I'll ride the bike to this afternoon's tutoring gig, but give myself about a half hour to cool off before she arrives.

And it's this one...

After one more scorching day, tomorrow, and we settle into a familiar monsoon rhythm, of 80 degree lows and 100 highs. And with much welcomed periodic cloudiness,... along with thunderstorms cropping up nearly everyday, all around. Most of what little rainfall we get, comes through monsoon.

That'll take us well into September.

I'd recommend living there an entire year before buying property. It can be pretty wet there.

Yep - stay away. We don't need any more durn f'rners showing up here 'bouts. Just ignore the fact that the current 10-day forecast is low to mid 70s with no precipitation.
