84 yo Jacques Parizeau, Premier of Quebec and hardline separatist has finally succeed in separating from Canada. RIP Jacques, We're keeping Quebec.

"It's the money and the immigrants" - Jacques Parizeau, explains why they lost the '95 referendum. Xenophobic? Well, maybe a bit. He was right even though that's not the way to say it, Jacques. The demographics were against the true Quebecois. He said that on national TV on the night of the referendum. All of English-Canada said "See? I told you, it's not us that is the problem, it's them." Yep Xenophobic.

He always dressed in British cut suits and vests. He looked like an anglo.

You're misunderstanding the situation. If they let Canadians have the kind of freedom with personal weapons that you folks have the first thing that would happen is that we'd attack the US. The whole world wants to attack the US. Why would you think Canadians are different? One can walk to the US from most major population centers in Canada. Do you think that just happens? We're only admirable because we removed the weapons. The reason they're nervous about you crossing the border with your "I have weapons" sticker is they're deeply concerned that Canadians will rob you and then go attack the US. So they're scrupulous in defeating that possibility. You guys are just innocent tourists. Relax.

Wait... Canada has Crime?!?!?!

If there are muggings, I bet they're the most polite muggings ever.

Uhmmmm... São Paulo is not in Canada, nor is this the Canada & Brazil in the news thread. If, for example, it occurred in Vermont (unlikely) then that might be ok, as in close enough, in this thread. Most Americans mistake Vermont for a part of Canada.

'til 3 am! What's the matter with the Americans? The canucks still have the cannons from the war of 1812, y'know. It's all there... lovingly maintained just waiting for the day. Of course they're fitted with more modern noise suppressors. We wouldn't want to disturb the quiet ones. So consider it a complaint and a request. Ignore the canucks at your peril.
