I used to be in the routine of doing pullups.. err.. trying to.. almost got to where I could do them unassisted but then I quit.. I hate it when I don't stick with something. If I'd have kept doing it I'd probably be able to do a decent amount by now.
How long till your half? Or did you run it already?

Sweet. I did the Freedom's Run 1/2 in October. Lots of hills.

This one is actually pretty flat.. There's a 180' of elevation gain.. but the race is an out and back.. the majority of the gain is on the way out.. so coming back you're going down hill most of the way. Here where I live, it's all hills.. Hills everywhere. I don't mind them though, I usually get a good bit of satisfaction when I hit the top of the big ones.

Another 10 today.. Point to point.. There's a pretty big hill going from mile 5.5 - 6.5 with about 400' of elevation gain.. *shew*

I did 2.5 with 2-dot yesterday morning - but took a walk break from a cramp at mile 2. Back out tomorrow.

Did 2 and quarter with 2-dot and 3-dot tonight. Chilly and dark but good conversation.

ugh. missed my 10 miler this morning... I feel like a slug now.

My biggest excuse, I suppose, was the weather. It was in the low 30s and was supposed to start raining while I would have been out. I can handle sub freezing temps, I can handle rain, but I can't do both at the same time. I'm telling myself I'm going to try to get out at some point today for a few miles at least.. but the blerch has already set in..

I did a 2 miler on Saturday morning with the kids from the cross country team before an end of season breakfast feast. Last night did 2.6. Should be ready for the Turkey Trot next week.

Not yet. We are moving this week, so it's been a little crazy. Still coulda found time, but haven't. I did, however, find my Garmin while packing, so there's that.

Ran 3 miles on the treadmill this morning.

Seems I can run on the treadmill w/o consequence. The road... not so much.

I love my Garmin.

We were gifted an old cheapy treadmill. It's super hard. I thought maybe it was hard because it was old and cheapy. Over the summer I was on travel and decided to use the big fancy treadmill in the hotel gym since it was stinkin hot outside... that was hard too. Not too different from the old cheapy one at home. I decided it was easier to run out in the stinkin heat the next day. Do you think it's what we get used to? Or is there something else?

For me... its the hundred extra pounds I'm carrying. Each foot fall is crashing down with well over 1000 pounds of pressure. I have my treadmill set to its hardest setting but it still has more "give" than the road and that seems to make all the difference.

I was running up to 6 miles on the road last year but then tore a muscle in my foot, and was out of commission for the Winter months, up until the Spring. This made me sort of extra "road wary".

I lost 40 pounds cycling this Summer/Fall which I've noticed has made running MUCH more enjoyable and easier on the joints/ligaments. I'm going to try to stick to a regimen of alternating 5k's on the treadmill with 15 milers on the bike in a stationary trainer - 2 5k's and 2 bike rides each week totaling 4 workouts for the week with Saturday spent walking on the road (or running if it feels right). I'm thinking if I can take off another 10 pounds over the Winter I believe I might be light enough to try regular running on the road in the Spring.

If any of you guys are on Runkeeper or Strava, PM me.

Runkeeper, where I've been recording data since March 2012, just let me know that this morning's run consisted of my fastest average mile pace (at the very slow speed of 10:34 min/mi).

How's Runkeeper tracking your treadmill work? I like 10:34's.

I use a Wahoo Ant+ Stride Sensor in conjunction with the Wahoo app, so the work is automagically recorded in the app and, when complete, one tap uploads to Runkeeper (or anywhere else).
