I haven't gone fishing for a few years. Lately, I've been having dreams about fishing. WTH?

Just for fun, a few fishing pics from the last month:

It's been crazy hot here the last week, we tried going to the lake on Saturday - it was hot there too.

A few weeks ago we took the whole family (us, my brother, sister, parents, etc) camping in Indiana. My brother does not fish, so his boys look forward every year to going fishing with uncle Gabe. Also, Nikki absconded with my fly rod for a while one afternoon. Good times:

About to head out on the road to find some "new to me" trout water in western NC. Hopefully some good pics to follow.

Pulled the boat out for the winter today. I barely even fished this year :( Image

Nice.

Were you catching shrimp to eat or shrimp for bait?

Last Wed I took my brother-in-law fishing to the marsh in Louisiana, in celebration of his 80th birthday. We both love going there, especially this time of year, and it was a great trip, with non-stop action. We lost count of the fish, but ultimately put 10 trout and 5 redfish in the ice chest.

Image

With the combination of the storm (Nate) out in the Gulf, high tides and full harvest moon, the water was high. The ramp we usually use was totally under water; and this one was almost under water, but we got launched anyway. This pic is from Sat., with my grandson. I parked the truck and waded to the boat. My grandson was over to the side already fishing. Some guys were fishing and crabbing next to the "No Fishing or Crabbing from Ramp" sign, as is always the case.

Image

I lost the actual fishing pics from both trips, off my phone somehow, and I'm still upset. Either my brother-in-law or my little grandson are responsible I'm pretty sure, but I can't locate them so no matter. These ice chest and ramp pics will have to do, but will stir memories I'm sure, along with this short write-up.
As thus we sat in darkness
Each one busy with his prayers,
"We are lost!" the captain shouted,
As he staggered down the stairs.

O love the Lord, all ye His saints: for the Lord preserveth the faithful. Psalm 31:23

Bait.
In a tragic seance dripping with irony both my girls don’t like to eat shrimp.
