I think my favorite thing about this thread is being able to easily click through the photos.

Hard to believe we weren't even ready to walk on the slab 2 weeks ago!

Thanks!

Our only current 'weather issue' is frozen ground.

Moderately viewable in the most recent photo is a bunch of straw poking up through the ground in the garage and the front porch.

I laid 14 bails of straw over tarps before the snow started, hoping that keeps the ground from freezing and the concrete guys will be willing to poor sometime early next week.

Not the end of the world if not. We can enclose the garage and frankly finish the entire house by spring without that cement pour.
Just would be nice pice of mind at this point :)

Good news. Was able to save the ground and get the concrete for garage and front porch poured this week!
Also, because there was so much snow this week, started working on the stairs inside.

Getting close to being able to work indoors from here on out.
Steel roof, windows, and siding all that's left (pics aren't 100% up to date).
Peanuts compared to last 3 weeks!

Are you going to open a symbolic present in the new house as your first Christmas there?

Gas, Electric, & Sewer were all finished being hooked up this afternoon :)

The sewer was fun. Excavator dug the trench but the water table is so high being next to Lake Mich, that we had to run a pump over night in order to get a clear shot at running the piping:

This is the current state:
Roofing done, siding about ready to get started (being able to work outside due to mild winter has been great)

Little bit of an update for you all:

First: finished running electric in the house this afternoon and am waiting inspection tomorrow morning.

Image

Hired out HVAC and dude should be finished tomorrow as we have inspection scheduled for Thursday:

This is the current state of our main space downstairs. An open concept kitchen/dining/living space with intent to hold 20-40ish people on a weekly basis for neighborhood missions.

Current state of the upstairs:

First pic is from the top of the stairs. Center of photo looks into additional living room space (also intended for kid spillover space during missional gatherings) with the left side of the photo being Mrs. 14 and my wing which can be closed off during gatherings. Right side of photo our goddaughters' wing which can also be closed of during gatherings.

A little detail on the left side (our wing) of above photo:

We seem to be on the same track. My Rough-In electric inspection was Monday, HVAC was Tuesday (which was denied due to something minor), and the Plumber finished up yesterday. I need to get another permit for the plumbing (and $650 fee that didn't exist 18 months ago :x ) which I'll be submitting this morning. Wanna race to see who can move in first?

I won't technically get an occupancy certificate, so we'll have to do something else. First person to consummate the master bedroom?
