Strategic strikes that take out only the missile launching sites is really the only sensible way to put an end to this madness. And then monitor for any and all reconstruction of launch sites.

Clean, fast, and effective.
I wish it were that simple.

Modern military tech means underground silos and mobile launch platforms.

Easier to target where their nuclear reactors are, but these are shielded in cities with civilian populations.
Human shielding. Now that is the epitome of evil.
North Korea has a lot of anti-aircraft defense, and maybe some of it is sophisticated. We would likely have to put our stealth tech to the test.

Or we could overwhelm their defenses with hundreds of cruise missiles.

Either way, our superior military tech could likely disable their reactors with surgical precision. Still damnably messy, though. And if PRNK insists that their shielding is strong enough to protect their reactors, then we can get much bigger and much messier.

Hopefully these threats are potent enough that we will not have to use them. Much depends on how the rest of the world responds.

I would like to think that matters of human life, national security, and military threats are beyond petty politics.... but yeah, it went there pretty fast.

It is a bit dicey.... The discussions of politics in the Purgatory forum had become useless, pointless brawling. We don't want that happen again, anywhere.

But we do want a place to share and discuss important topics.

As always, we should police ourselves... and heed to warnings of moderators and pirates.

No. No, we don't as any such place inevitably devolves into a bully pulpit for your insufferable folksy fascism. Dunderheads like you have already ruined the Catholic Church, the Republican Party, and the United States. I'll be goddamned if I'm going to see you ruin CPS.

The really big worry is North Korea developing a missile that can reach New York.
If they can make it there, they'll make it anywhere.

LOL! It's good one. This is what Pepik intended. Light hearted banter about nuclear war that exemplifies "valuing fun and good fellowship". It's a strange demand, but ok.

Maybe Pepik can adjust the terms of service so that they prohibit the nuclear arming of N. Korea?
