Dangerously High Temperatures Forecast For Phoenix

Post by Goose55 » Tue Jun 13, 2017 12:03 pm

Here is Weather Underground's forecast for Phoenix showing the "heat" being turned on. Beginning on Sunday, daytime highs of 115 and above for at least 5 days in a row, with no end in sight. And the forecast highs are now getting ratcheted up to 118

https://www.wunderground.com/q/zmw:85001.1.99999

Where I live is a little over 1000 feet higher than Phoenix, so we are usually several degrees "cooler." But it's still going to be on fire here, as well.

I have to cancel a medical specialist appointment up there, for I will not subject my vehicle to a 200 mile round trip in that kind of heat. It's a follow up appointment after tests. Perhaps it can be rescheduled for an over the phone.

We're on the other end. Heavy rain and flood watches.

Be careful.

The same stretch of days in Death Valley, CA will be 120 and above. Two days at 122. A whole mess of snow pack over there will be melting for sure, and in a hurry.

They say it's a "dry heat," and that's true, for as for today it's 7% humidity. But next week it's still going to be HOT

Well, it's not steaming and not icing.

Unfortunately, I don't currently have a thermometer in the water. The sun eats them up (the cord, the plastic shark or duck head). I am in the market for picking up another.

Good. He's whining that 62F is too cold and I won't let him heat the pool. I keep telling him we can resurrect the hockey rink with a little 'seed' ice.

It's 79 in Wisconsin. We have highs in the 80's all week.

Those temps are not dangerously high for Phoenix. It gets this hot and hotter every summer.

We're forecast to be in the mid-90s for highs next week, but the lows will be upper 40s at our house.
Today, the high was 68 at our place. Sunny and calm. Spectacular day.
