That's a really good smoke. Neither too strong nor too weak and really tasty. Enjoy, there is no kid like the first kid.

Happy Father's Day.

My wife got me a nice notebook and a Cross fountain pen. Hats and shirts from the kids. Got gifts early this year, with everything going on here.
As thus we sat in darkness
Each one busy with his prayers,
"We are lost!" the captain shouted,
As he staggered down the stairs.

O love the Lord, all ye His saints: for the Lord preserveth the faithful. Psalm 31:23

All in all a good day. Good meal, with the highlight a 3 layer cake I made. It took 2 cans of chocolate frosting. I got half done and quit, so my daughter finished it.

Everyone began picking on it ...

And then ...

After this, and a pot of black coffee, we threw the rest away.

This I can relate to.

My wife helped me have a good day. As for my kids, I heard from only one and that by text.

I hope these are "just" the teenager years and they pass quickly...

One sent me a nice Snapchat Father's Day wish, one sent me a text saying there's no food in the house and the other sent nothing.

Winning.

It was a great weekend.

First, all year long my kids tolerate me butting into their lives and acting like their kids belong to me, not them. This weekend, one kid took me to see Metallica in Dallas with grandson number one, my wife bought me a fancy air-fryer thing for the kitchen, and another kid called me from rehab and said positive things I'd never heard from him before (I actually got water in my eyes over that).

I took my wife, niece, and nephew to visit their parent/grandparent's graves. We dug a hole above their headstone and buried a Budweiser can full of their daddy's ashes there. It seemed appropriate. He and his daddy shared a love for the stuff. It was an oddly fun, yet sad moment.

We came home with a car full of crap I don't want, but holds a lot of sentiment for Rita. My next project will be to refinish her momma's cedar chest (that part I like).

Oh, and my SIl found my favorite pocket knife I lost at their house a few months ago.

I also got to go to Buc-ee's, one of the greatest places on earth, a couple of times.

Church. Lunch. Three hour nap (oh yeah). Bike ride with the kids. Fantastic Beasts. Bed.

We have six kids. My wife was trying to talk me into another one. I told her talk was cheap. 8)

Much win here. On the goofball front, my wife bought me a pair of hockey skates, for which my puzzled but sincere best thanks were offered.

Beanie gave me a hug then asked for breakfast. She gets it.

Much win there. I like their brisket burritos.

I got several books that were on my Amazon wish list, a tin of Patum Peperium Anchovy Relish The Gentleman's Relish (it's really good Jim, thanks for the idea), a clay bear my daughter made in her sculpture class, and a glass water bottle for my desk at work.
