Here's my tattoo suggestion:
If you don't know what to get then don't get anything.
+7

I'm heavily tattooed and been so for over 3 decades, I now wear long sleeved shirts.

Tattoos aren't all they're cracked up to be. The "meaning" is soon lost and people don't care about it anyway.

Save your pennies for a camera and make it about your child and not about you.
X7
I am anti-tattoo.

I am not much of a camera guy either, but the camera sounds like a better idea.
Camera first, then the pipes, then the tattoo.

Aren't butterflies pretty? I've always thought of them as a symbol of the interconnectedness of life. You should get a butterfly on your lower back.
How 'bout "no"?

What about a poorly executed nautch girl on your forearm? Watching her age gracelessly could be fun.

Find a shop that has a minimum of like $30-45 and just get the semi-colon. It would be the shop minimum, guaranteed.
The ones I have found is $60. I'm also considering getting the Hebrew word "chayah" which has 3 characters and means "live".
There are several variations of Hebrew's "to live," but חֲיָא is the gist. Not a bad idea, in my opinion, but I'd get it without the punctuation: חיא.

This is the variation I'm most familiar with Fainn:

It's also the way I've always seen it rendered on jewelry and such.
I think that would make a very nice tattoo.

Ha! A girl I knew got a tat of Chinese or other Asian letters, thinking it said peace or something similar, then later discovered that it had something to do with demons. All she could do was snap a finger and say "well darn".
As thus we sat in darkness
Each one busy with his prayers,
"We are lost!" the captain shouted,
As he staggered down the stairs.

Another possibility, if you want more characters, the Ashkenazi Hebrew toast, "To Life!"

When I was stationed in Japan we used to look for the hipsters out in town. They would have jackets with english phrases on the back. 95% of them didn't make any sense. They just liked the way the words looked.

Tevye would so dig that - then tell you not to get one.

Funny how that works out... That Leviticus guy sure does make it tough to have a "good time".
