So glad you liked it. As always, I have a million reasons to point out that it wasn’t what I hoped for but... here’s a few pics since you asked:

That is pretty darned cool, right there.
I have to agree, walnut is one of my favorite Woods, beautiful! I made my grandfather’s burial flag case out of black walnut a few years back.

The best part is that Gabe remembered a conversation we had about Walnut way back in the yesteryears, and that's why he used it for my gift. Truly special. This is hands down my favorite gift. Many thanks Gabriel.

No. He didn't. But now I know who to thank for my booty. Thanks Jared. I've been in and out of town for the last three weeks so I'm just getting around to posting a picture. I love it all, though I'm surprised about the book. I don't think I've ever mentioned around here that I like to fly fish so I don't know how you nailed it.

Figured you moved to Colorado in part for some fly fishing. Usually I send a half price books gift card but searched around there and didn't see any close. Remembered a short story author that I love (Patrick f. Macmanus) but wasn't sure if you would appreciate him and found that one that seemed to fit better. Hopefully you'll enjoy it all.

For the record, I moved to Colorado entirely for fly fishing. That I was able to keep the same job and work remotely and that Mrs FredS came along sweetened the deal, but I'd have come anyhow.

I met Pat Mc. on a plane once. He wasn't funny in person at all. But I have several of his books and love reading them.

I arrived tonight back at the apartment from the holiday family visit. I was anxious to check the mail. I had a small box jam packed with Christmas goodies from my Secret Santa. My Secret Santa definitely overdid it for me with:
110 pipe cleaners
Chocolate Covered Cherries
SG Chocolate Flake
C&D Sam's Blend
PS Luxury Twist Flake
MacBaren HH Old Dark Fired
Peterson Irish Flake
Image
The return address's only clue as to Santa's identity is the address which puts him in Irish Dane's neighborhood. I realize such a guess has been made in error before this year, but I will put it out there--Thanks Sam!

If I am wrong about your identity, Secret Santa, then shout out.

Since I've already had three people think I sent them a SS gift, I'll come clean and say this was from me. You're very welcome.

Smoked Ready Rubbed in my new Secret Santa pipe this afternoon.

First bowl at school in the New Year.
Sure won’t be the last bowl with that combination. Great tobacco. Pretty pipe. Good stuff!

Thanks again SS.

My SS pipe has had a steady diet of STMs and War Horse. It’s been doing admirably. Super comfortable to hold and smokes great.
