The pictures are a great idea, I will start the notebook and mail it and people can put whatever they want in it.

I need addresses though, so far only a few people have PMed me, I’m pretty sure more people would be interested in contributing, I want to make sure I give everyone a chance to get me their address.

Terrible News! Rusty had been one of the most challenging, mischievous, provoking, delightful, and warm people of CPS. In my absence, I have often prayed for members of CPS as they came to mind. Rusty came to mind many times. I’ll miss him.

On a more personal note, I introduced him to this site. For whatever reason; a reason unknown to me, this staunch atheist planted his flag in the middle of this group of pipe smokers and declared himself to be "home".
I am grateful he did. CPS was richer with him here.

My good friend Luc here in Ottawa area knew Rusty and follows the threads here on CPS. We see each other all the time and I know he’ll be adding an entry. I will pass the journal on to him when it reaches me here.

I'm in tears. Rusty was my friend. Not just a guy on the other end of the internet. He was my friend. My dear and respected friend.
Dear and respected friend indeed. I was just searching his name to find his profile to PM him, and saw this thread instead. Oh, Rusty. I am so sad, and so grateful to have known you.

Like many others, just seeing this now. I am shocked and saddened. Sysiphus is right. We are greatly diminished by the loss.

May our Rusty find mercy at the throne of grace.

So profound and sad, the loss of one man rippling around the globe as the news has reached us all and our hearts sink.

Would those who commented here mind letting me know where you are geographically? Either here or via PM? I’m seeing the family Monday night. Thank you.

And I'm sure Rusty thought of this and has a spreadsheet for them, but make sure the family knows his collection of pipes and tobacco is worth money. There are people who can help sell it for a fair price, if they'd like to / when they're ready to. All too often the family doesn't know that there's a little investment waiting for them in the pipe cellar, and it's given away for pennies.
