I walked a helluva long way yesterday. Today I'll mow the lawn.

I want to work on my form in three basic push-pull exercises: pull-ups, push-ups, squats. I've been taught that you only gain strength through the range of motion that you train, so last week into this week I've been concentrating on pull-ups from dead hang all the way up to a squeeze and hold above the bar. They are much harder that way.

I went skateboarding on Sunday. Pushing around on a longboard can get the heart rate up and work on your balance.

Bicycling, and leg lifts for my knee health. Both strengthen muscles in and surrounding my ailing, worn out knee.

I got a weighted vest and added 25 lbs to it. I strapped it on and did some chores this morning then into some pulling excercises on the bar and some ring excercises. Much harder.

Been walking between 3.5 and 5.25 miles 5 times a week. Back in the woods lots of hills. Been walking for two months now. Also changing our eating habits since the first of the year.

So far a great success I've lost 20 pounds wife has lost 12, great start to our goal.

I've been doing this consistently and adding some more weight.

I attended a meeting inside a gym today. There were people sweating.

Hanging leg lifts and clocks. Chins, rows, push-ups, dips, lunges using a suspension system and weighted vest. It was hard. Done in quick succession it makes for a good halfway cardio workout too.

These movements have become my workout foundation. I'll vary them and add weight or reduce weight and increase reps or time under tension for some variability. I think I need to add free weight movements so I'm going to look into some free weight equipment in the upcoming months. I don't think it's absolutely necessary, though. I just want the variability.

I did about a 45 minute this morning and will do about half an hour tonight. I feel like I could go back in time 20 years and kick my own 22 year old a$$ at this point. I'd need 5-10 minute to warm up and stretch though.

Continuing to bicycle for knee and cardiovascular. It's not a long circuit. Just enough to keep the muscles in my knee & heart strong.

My doctor told me there is no added benefit to the heart in exercising beyond the level where one can easily carry on a conversation, while exercising. If I bicycle alongside another.

More weighted calisthenics and cardio. I'm finding that stretching out well is key to avoid post workout discomfort. It sort of ruins the purpose of working out if you can't comfortably move to do regular stuff afterwards.

This is my first week on a Starting Strength program. Spent a lot of time learning form for squat, bench press, deadlift, and standing press. The only complaint is that I have some scraped shins from deadlifting. Overall, it has been a good experience learning new things. Next week I'm learning to power clean!

Pain now dramatically prevents me from doing much of anything by way of lifting or walking; so I'm using the rubber stretch cord, I purchased at Wheeler's Fitness Center; and walking all I can. But so far that means out to the mail box and back, and in the house, and picking up dog poo, which isn't real walking (not exercise walking). But I'm often moaning with pain as I approach the 30 feet from the house mark. Very discouraging.
Does typing fast on CPS forum count? :)
