Here are a few presidential pipe smokers: John Adams, Andrew Jackson, Zachary Taylor, Franklin D. Roosevelt (in his younger years), Richard M. Nixon, Gerald R. Ford, & Ronald Reagan (again in his younger years). There may be more, but I'm not sure. There were a lot of cigar smokers as well.

Dan Ackroid. Did you see that pipe in "Skipping Christmas"? A fun movie, by the way.

Slightly off topic, but I think relative. With the a couple exceptions (Scott Anderson and the like), most of these famous smokers fall into much older generations. Are there any 'modern' people, or has it become such a stigma to enjoy any kind of tobacco that there will be no more modern day famous pipe smokers?

i hope there will be more.. but then again, if pipe smoking were widespread, it would lose some of its mystique..

BTW, "Day After Trinity" is an excellent documentary about Ole Oppie and all of the people who developed the bomb, from their veiwpoint if anyone is interested.
