Yep. Could use a little rain here too. Cake batter is running over in the oven and burning. Got doors open to vent the house. I may as well light up a pipe, which is already packed with last night's smoke of Harkness Tower.

Had the privilege of walking through the Alamo movie site shortly after the movie was made. Picked up spent cartridges, leather from horse and wagons, and some bedding from where Jim Bowie was killed. Kinda felt like their ghosts were there. :)

Never been to the movie set, but there's spirits at the Alamo for sure, especially the low barracks. BTW, John Waynes' wasn't the worst Alamo movie, but it was pretty bad.

I just christened the below Bartlett & Bickley Picadilly I just restored, with a huge bowl full of Gawith, Hoggarth, & Co. bulk Scotch Flake. Best bowl of SF I have ever had. So soft, smooth, and delicious!

Any coatings were stripped and I have left the briar for now, naked:

Folks, please pardon the multiple posts of the pic in 3 threads. I am just really pleased with this pipe and showing it off. Anyone with any ideas on how to best finish the sandblast to best bring out the grain, please PM me.

Golden Extra in a Rossi Billiard. Trying to distract myself from a horrible day. If you guys run across this and are religious please say a prayer for my Mom. She hurt herself very badly today while helping me. She's in the hospital with a skull fracture and has been in and out of consciousness all day. I've kinda lost my faith over the past few years. But Mom is a strong believer, so if you don't mind out in a good word for her. Maybe there's enough magic in the moonlight and more things in heaven and earth. Thanks
