I'm really glad for your enthusiasm but if you press your pipe onto tobacco or press tobacco into your pipe, it's simply the same.

I'm sorry I can't share your joy.

I've done both, it's really nothing to be excited about, unless you need a certain excitement about putting pipe tobacco into a pipe.

EDIT: ONE WORD

Heh. So with all of you're "I can tell you don't do it properly talk" you aren't actually happy anybody has been taught how to do it properly?

One word:

It works like a charm. Absolutely foolproof. Not messy at all if you cup your hand so the tobacco keeps falling into the hollow of your palm. I'm going to be evangelical about the technique.

Sorry. That was five words.

I tend to keep my pipe clenched in the far side of my mouth, usually the right side, though sometimes I switch to the left. I tend to clench down on it very, very hard. I imagine it's out of sheer, abject rage.

I absolutely must be seated during the majority of the bowl. Otherwise, it doesn't feel like I've smoked at all. No lunting for me.

I do nothing but lunt, most of the time. I rarely, if ever, sit down. I'm told that this is maddening to others. I don't care.
