The Pipe You Forgot About

Post by joegoat » Tue Aug 01, 2017 8:07 am

I was standing before my array of pipes yesterday morning, trying to decide on one to smoke on the hour and a half drive to CVG. I have somewhere between 60 and 70 pipes now and yes, a very bad case of PAD. I've never established a standard rotation. I smoke what I want when I want. A straight Dublin caught my eye. It was a Guildhall made by Comoy. I've had it for at least 5 years and couldn't remember the last time I had smoked it. There was a decent start to a cake so I had smoked it more than once. The nice tall 3/4" diameter bowl would be perfect for the VA flake I wanted to smoke. The pipe is gorgeous and smokes beautifully! I don't know how it was forgotten about for so long. I might need to start revisiting some old friends.

Last night I smoked a bent Sav Billiard that my wife found in a box recently. I not only forgot about it, I have no idea where or when it was acquired. I remembered the pipe, but could not raise any details about it in my brain.

Rita said I had Pipeheimers.

I only have 3 pipes (unless you count the cobs the children play with) so if I forget about any of them call an ambulance.

The Pipe You Forgot About

I smoked a Dunhill ODA that I haven't messed with in a long time and it smoked great! I got it used and cleaned it up, when I initially tried to smoke it, it had some super funky ghost in it, but I think I've managed to exorcise it with a fair dose of heavy Latakia ''twas all but forgotten until yesterday!

I always forget about my Lepeltier clay pipe. It's a nice enough pipe to smoke. I might even smoke it more, but the cork that joins the stem to the shank has been worn out for some time now. I should get that replaced.

This is funny.

Last month I re-discovered several that I had not thought about in a while...one for sure was a Nording Billiard I go from Das several years ago.

I haven't found any lost or forgotten pipes lately, but I'm on the back porch at this moment, and can't remember what tobacco I'm smoking.
As thus we sat in darkness
Each one busy with his prayers,
"We are lost!" the captain shouted,
As he staggered down the stairs.

On a side note, your avatar is very depressing...

Is ok, that pipe is repaired and back in service.

Lucky for me I don't remember that, either.

Well that's good, also I'm smoking another forgotten pipe today, a Yello Bole Pug that used to live in my old Jeep Liberty's console.
