Stanwell Brushed Brown $19.99 at P&C

Post by jdavis2809 » Wed Dec 13, 2017 4:09 pm

Got a postcard in the mail today, promo code is LIMITEDGIFT. Regular $49.99 and works with the other $10 off email. Never had a Stanwell but may pick one up if there's any post-Christmas shopping money left.

Thanks for the heads up. I just bought two. I think I'll get them and sandblast them then refinish. For $20, why not?

Yeah this is my first non used brand name pipe. I wanted the freehand but it sold before I got to it so I went with the ball. But really like the saddle billiard too.

I bought two. Twenty bucks for a name-brand gift this time of year is a pretty good deal.

Got mine yesterday, looks really nice. First smoke tonight hopefully. I didn't realize it was a filter pipe when I ordered it. I do like filter pipes, just wish I had got some extra filters with it.

I didn't realize they were filtered, either. They don't look at all bulky like many filtered pipes. For twenty buck, they seem like a darned fine deal.

Yeah I went back and looked and not all of them are. But it didn't even cross my mind.

I saw that some of them were filtered so I made sure to purchase ones that were not. I haven't gotten mine yet. Hoping they show up tomorrow.

Oh I did not see the filtered part, got two and a couple new tampers though, first time I’ve bought new pipes in quite a while...

I ordered mine the day after you and had them in a couple of days. Weird.

The only thing Stanwell about them is the name.

The old Danish Stanwell pipes that we all know and love were made in the Stanwell factory. The factory closed some years ago and now they’re manufactured by some other company and sold under the Stanwell name. My local B&M, Just For Him, wont even carry the current production. Only the Danish estates.

This thread revived my interest in an estate Stanwell. And I think I've found one.

What if I saw a Ben Wade I wanted and got it instead? Now, back to that Stanwell.

What model of Stanwell is it?

Looking at a 2001 Sandblasted Dublin, but haven't quite pulled the trigger. BTW, just doing a small search on the web, it seems many are/were very pleased with the Italian Stanwells.
