C&D Autumn Evening in a Boswell bend billiard while letting the dog run a bit outside.
I've had several bowls of this; I don't like it as much as I thought I would. I thought it would be a nice aro to smoke in front of my new fireplace this winter. But it's not my favorite and a test puff in the house this evening reveals that it leave too much of a cigarettish smell behind.

Yes I noticed this as well, something about it changed because it used to be much more maple, I think it’s either the cut or a change in the blend.venator260 wrote:C&D Autumn Evening in a Boswell bend billiard while letting the dog run a bit outside.

Rasputin's Revenge. I was listening to a history podcast on WWI and it just so happened that a large portion of this episode was on Rasputin. Woah, man.

Re: Most most recent bowl
The 3rd and final bowl of the first blend of TFB R&D 1x1y.5 in a newly acquired MM cob.
A wee too aro forward for the first half of the bowl, this behavior was consistent over all 3 samplings. Fades to a smoother pallet for a few minutes. As the aro full frontal assault begins to ebb, it's quite nice. Then for the rest of the bowl it's like smoking smoke. There is nothing remarkable. I suspect the room note is fabulous.

Well, let's see....after my initial smoke w/ my Falcon this morning, there was Riegel's Middle Earth in my Rathburn custom cob, Half & half Riegel's Burley and SERV in my Ehrlich Select bull moose, and finally Riegel's Baker Street in my Custom-Bilt squashed tomato.

Re: Most most recent bowl
Bufflehead Wood Duck from Sept. 2003 in an '89 Savinelli Collector. Lovely, surprisingly so. The tobacco is almost black with all that age. It was a matured natural Virginia blend and tended naturally to harmonic flavours of butterscotch, butter, and a bit of citrus. Now it's so dark that it seems to have raisin notes. Stokkebye Luxury Twist Flake is a very similar colour and blend of tobaccos for Wood Duck in the day but it's topped. So the closest kin to Wood Duck would be Luxury Twist without topping. This is made from McClelland leaf too.
Bufflehead Wood Duck

Back in 2003 my cellar was almost 50% Bufflehead tobaccos.

I have never heard of Bufflehead tobaccos. I am guessing that they do their own blending. I looked at the website and see that they have some interesting blends. I will do more research.
