Stanwell, probably Majestic finish, 114
Bingo.
Well, super easy, as it turns out.

This one was stamped Danish Sovereign 144 by Stanwell.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of consensus regarding the Stanwell 144. Standard shape, or not? Desigened by Sixten Ivarsson or a number given to one-offs?

I like this one.

Good job UB.

Any thoughts or experience with the 144 you can share?
I just so happened to smoke mine this morning. That shape was really popular but, like so many of Stanwell's shapes, that 144 shape was discontinued when the carver responsible for it moved on to greener pastures (in this case Jess Chonowitsch). Check it out: https://pipedia.org/wiki/Stanwell_Shape ... _Designers

It smokes great, BTW.

Another favorite of mine is the shape 10 carved by Sixten Ivarsson:

Both shapes are highly coveted.

Thanks UB.

I guess it wouldn't be fair for me to guess.
Oh sure. You don't come 'round for months at a time. Then I make a joke about a Chinese name and here you are.
Except, I believe, kaydens is of Korean descent. Maybe he'll come back in several months to set the record straight.
Well that's even more embarrassing. In the "they all look the same" category. I thought he was from Taiwan.

Kaydens, we need a ruling.
And the reason I've been away is that I had just returned from Taiwan.
Good on you FredS.

SlowToke, I'm going to assume your mistake was to get me to respond quicker.

Looks like you won.

I cheated and looked up this code:

I so want one of Eltang's mini pokers done in his classic rustication style,
maybe one day.

Scandpipes recently got in one of those mini pokers and at $420 it is within reach,
yet I will let it slide...

http://scandpipes.com/product.asp?product=5721

...maybe one day.

Also,
SmokingPipes recently got one of his killer Devil Anse pipes:

https://www.smokingpipes.com/pipes/new/ ... _id=223353

And I would love to have it, and I actually did have an oppo as I saw it while it was still available, but I cannot bring myself to cross the $500 barrier,
and it was listed at $550.

A nice looker with the sort of proportions I prefer, and that rustication technique looks like it'd be wonderful in hand, giving tactile delight.
