Well, I WAS contemplating purchasing a falcon pipe.

NOPE .... I'll pass on the pipe after readying through this thread. Plus it looks like something a 'doper' uses or bought out of a head shop.
This makes me sad. <man tear>

Smoking a Falcon is like shaking hands with an old friend (only without wondering when he washed them last).

I still need to add one to my rack. I have a Kirsten and a Dr G Viking and greatly enjoy both.

I have a Falcon and I like it. I used to have a Viking which was sold off pre-AT hike. The funny part is Rusty told me not to sell off any pipes, that I would regret it after the trail. Truth. I would love to have another Grabow Viking, despite the terribly tasting stems.

I've enjoyed my Viking even though I've needed to add some plumbing tape to the treads of the 4 bowls I have so that they seal enough to draw properly.

Odd predicament. How does one free a stuck bowl from a falcon stem? I have a bowl that seems to be adhered to a stem. I have gotten two bits of advice. One is to soak the bowl end in a bath of water or some spirit to hopefully dissolve the tar that has glued them together. The second is heresy and will not be repeated by me. My fear is the soak if long enough to be effective will destroy the bowl which should not be a problem with a falcon except the pipe was my grandfathers. It is still smokable but not cleanable which is not tolerable to me.

Have you tried freezing it? The metal and the wood should separate. If it doesn't work, I'd personally suggest to send it off to a repairman because it's sentimental value.

I almost never smoke my Falcon anymore. Bowls are too small. Too much fuss.

Too much fuss.
Considering the amount of effort you put into keeping your pipes pristine, this is quite a statement.

My Falcon performs really well except that the bowl gets about too hot to hold during the smoke.

Do replacement bowls have much variance in chamber wall thickness?
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal

Definitely. They have all kinds of shapes and sizes. Click on the Falcon link on the left side of the main page (about halfway down) for lots of different styles.

I broke down and bought one, it was within my price range.
Hope the link works
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 2802055748

It is close to my preferred style of pipe. Now, I am 5 pipes. ... or maybe it will turn into 1 in 20+ pipes, ... er, I mean bowls.
