TEXAS in the News

The part of the church where the silliest things happen. Conversations that sound like they belong in the youth room will be moved here.

That's pretty lame news, even for Texas.

Houston Area Man Drills Well, Charges Laid
A Sugarland, TX man and his neighbor are in police custody after the duo drilled an unauthorized gas well in the backyard of one of the men in search of a fuel source for their extraordinarily large backyard barbecues.

... Although their wives could bail them out, they choose not to in an effort to teach them a lesson for their backyard hi-jinx.

I'm proud and ashamed all at the same time.

East Texas should have a thread like this of its' own ... well, west, south and north Texas could too, I guess ... but especially East Texas.
As thus we sat in darkness
Each one busy with his prayers,
"We are lost!" the captain shouted,
As he staggered down the stairs.

O love the Lord, all ye His saints: for the Lord preserveth the faithful. Psalm 31:23

I have learned this is a hoax. I have fallen for satire.

Knowing my redneck brothers as I do, it just seemed so plausible.

I finally got around to reading the article. Wow, what a generous gesture. I can't wait until some of these artifacts are on display.

Since I know ALL of you are just as excited as me about this, here's another article that gives more detail on the contents of the donation and the plans for future exhibits:
