TEXAS in the News

The part of the church where the silliest things happen. Conversations that sound like they belong in the youth room will be moved here.

White Settlement Mayor Ron White told the paper that he blames the gray cat’s eviction on pettiness at City Hall because a city employee wasn’t allowed to bring a puppy to work.

“We’ve had that cat five years, and there’s never been a question,” White said.
Big surprise: pettiness.
Oh, then that's hardly a Texan issue. I was expecting witchcraft, the cat was gay/muslim/jewish/Catholic/Democrat/yankee/pro-gun-control/not from around here. Disappointing. Poor Browser. Poor kids.

You may be right. Upon reflection, they should have gone with one or more of those to be TEXAN news.

And I tease you guys, but I've never met a Texan who seemed like a bad dude. In the rural parts around here, some stumbling redneck would have tortured the poor thing just for being a cat.

I hate cats. Still, I wouldn't have evicted it. I'd likely have even donated to the cat fund. The people that complained probably couldn't even read.

Boom.

Muslim doctor shot and stabbed on the way to morning prayers at mosque
The man, who was said to be a doctor, had parked along the street before walking towards the mosque in Houston, Texas, for the morning service.

Witnesses said the victim was approached by three masked men before being stabbed without any warning.

One of the attackers pulled out a gun and shot him, before they all fled the scene.
Making America great again, I see.

Glenn Beck: 'Pack Your Crap And Move To Texas ... Before We Close The Northern Border'
On his radio program today, Glenn Beck declared that America is now out of options and speeding toward inevitable destruction and advised his audience to "pack your crap and move to Texas ... before we close the northern border."

Beck raised alarms about the fact that retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn has been mentioned as possible vice presidential running mate for Donald Trump, saying that it's a sign that Trump thinks that "real civil unrest is coming and he needs to have somebody who has the experience of law and order" advising him.

"I told you these things were coming," Beck said, adding that turning to God is the nation's only option at this point but that nobody wants to hear that.

The person doing the body-slamming accused others of having violent tendancies?
Isn't that a case of the pot calling the kettle . . . uh,

Never mind.

We certainly have a violence problem in 'Merica. Violence was seen as the last resort but now it seems a much more attractive option all around--both police and citizens.

Armed ‘White Lives Matter’ Group Protests Outside Houston NAACP
Reed insisted that the group wasn’t there to “instigate” and only carried firearms to “defend” themselves.

While he told the Chronicle that the flags were just meant to represent Southern pride, one of his fellow protesters held a sign reading “14 words,” a reference to the white supremacist slogan coined by David Lane, member of the white nationalist terror organization known as The Order.

"We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children,” the slogan reads.
