American Ninja 2: The Confrontation (1987)

The other night I watched two recently added classics:

This is Spinal Tap (1984)

Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins (1985)

I've crossed the Bosphorus.

All of the Christopher Guest movies have been great, IMO. Spinal Tap is probably my favorite. The scene where one of them gets stuck in stage set always gets to me.

Joined Netflix in the last year.

I like catching up on some popular series that I missed:

DR. WHO reboot
DEXTER
Sherlock

What do you think?

I'm a big fan of online video services. However, my children will know the excitement of going to Blockbuster on Friday to rent movies.

Last night I watched Greenwich Village: Music That Defined A Generation

It was pretty good. A little heavy on Dillon, but I liked the rest of it. You might enjoy it if you're of that age.

We binge-watched the six episode series River on Netflix today. River is a British police detective that is haunted by and talks to dead people from his cases. When I read the description I started to skip it, but I'm glad I didn't. It's well-written and well-acted and makes the premise seem plausible. There is not a lot of shoot 'em up type action, but there are a lot of plot twists and great characters.

I give it four out of five tamales.

Foyle's War. An excellent British series about a detective in WWII times.

Passed that one over many times. Might give it a shot

The Ridiculous 6

I'm not usually all that into goofy humor movies unless it's Will Ferrell and I'm not a huge fan of Adam Sandler's acting but I must admit there were some pretty funny parts in this movie.

The Good Guys

Cop comedy - A detective mentally stuck in the 80's teamed up with a young, tech savvy partner get into trouble. Pretty darned funny.

The Detectorists

A couple of hapless British blokes who's hobby is metal detecting. There's only one season on Netflix so don't binge watch or you'll be disappointed.
