Good Tunes for Friday Listenin'

The part of the church where the silliest things happen. Conversations that sound like they belong in the youth room will be moved here.

A young Neil Young, live, performing a classic rendition of Cowgirl In The Sand. Don't miss this......

All this while, and no one exclaimed how great my prior post of Neil Young's Cowgirl In The Sand is. I am grieved by that. That tune is so awesome.

On an even more serious note, here is one of Johnny Cash's later day songs, "God's Gonna Cut You Down." Phew. Man. Does he ever get a point across. If only the rebellious and wayward could hear this. Please use as you see fit for anyone you think this will "minister" to.

Are you ready for this? Are you sure?

It doesn't have enough four star reviews for me to be sure I like it. I think I do, but I'm not sure.

Oh, go ahead and let yourself like that tune. It is a timeless classic. Awesome guitar talent and that unique voice of Young's. None ever like it before, or since

In that rendition of Cowgirl In The Sand he performed unaccompanied

So I go to the Walmart in Ocean Springs and happen to run into the only other person in town who owns a yarmulke and immediately thought of this song. It takes a 10 men, a minyan, to have a Torah service. Not so easy in a small town.

It's not Friday yet, but it's comin'

This is a delightful tune by the former songwriter, lead guitar and lead vocal of Creedence Clearwater Revival , John Fogerty. Performed live On Austin City Lights. And don't we all, these days, crave a little more sweetness in our lives?

At the very end of the track, pay attention to that fellow off on the right, with the white guitar. He goes off and just wails on that thing, with celestial riffs. Enjoy !!......

Listening to this one a lot. Father's day is hard for me because dad passed away when I was 21 and Mrs. Fainn's dad was beaten to death and robbed by a junkie for drug money in 2006.
