Good Tunes for Friday Listenin'

The part of the church where the silliest things happen. Conversations that sound like they belong in the youth room will be moved here.

Don't hold back there, Fred. Tell 'em what you really think.
It's been a long week. 'How Great Thou Art' doesn't exactly hit the spot. Even Elvis's version.
Week?
I get it. If there was a way I could bear your burdens for a few days so you could chill on the beach I would. But I can't. The best I can do is pray. And tell you to dinga ding dang your danga long ling long.

I like the white Sally, er, I mean, white Mustang at 1:33 on the video

It's not yet Friday, but it's almost here. Here's a great, mellow, and famous CCR tune most everyone will like, Have You Ever Seen The Rain?.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gu2pVPWGYMQ

Also, here's a really, really cool must see, from just last October, of CCR's lead guitar and lead vocal, John Fogerty doing a live, impromptu acoustic version of the same tune (which--BTW--he wrote, along with most every other CCR tune), on Conan. Check it out, and may it help make your Friday a good one....

You mean Jocose? I hope he gets to see/ listen to both the original and impromptu, live acoustic version, from last October's Conan

I once told a naive coworker that CCR came to fame playing tent revivals with Billy Graham back in the late 60's. He believed me.

They were first The Blue Velvets, and then the Fantasy Records crook named them the Golliwogs, which they hated. Credence Clearwater Revival was a collective effort. Everyone in the band took time and worked on coming up with that,... the way John Fogerty, the bands leader, wanted it to be.

There is a recently released biography. Fortunate Son, by John Fogerty that is an excellent read.

Here's another great Friday Listenin' tune,... Sammy Hagar's 1996 Marching To Mars

It starts out slow and faint, so be patient. Its worth the wait. What an amazing talent of vocal and guitar skill....

Gee, I hope I haven't hijacked the thread. So few others have been posting tunes.

"Savin' it up for Friday night,"....

Dire Straits song, Sultans of Swing, played by Maria Clara Aragão. And what an awesome guitar this young woman plays! I am truly humbled by such talent. I don't know how to play guitar but I know when I hear something good. Pay particular attention to 3:30 - 4:00. Unbelievable! Enjoy!....
