ATTN: Cargo short wearers

The part of the church where the silliest things happen. Conversations that sound like they belong in the youth room will be moved here.

I wear them nearly everyday outside of work or some other occasion that require better attire. When I get home from work, I put them on. I'm a gun dog trainer nearly every day now. The cargo pockets hold check cords, fetch toys, electronic collars, transmitters and treats for our walks and training sessions. Don't leave out the cargo pants! They're good too, as are overalls and carpenter jeans. :D
I go with a strap vest for this.
A guy my age in cargo shorts looks ridiculous.

Well, maybe a guy my age looks ridiculous no matter what. :pipe3:

I would look more ridiculois wearing a strap vest at the local park. The nice thing about cargo shorts is that I can look like all the other 40 somethings who don't care about fashion on our off time. There are plenty of us. No one knows that I'm training a gun dog, they just think I'm playing a complicated game of fetch and hide the frisbee game with my pet. That is what I want them to think.

I use a big brown canvas courier style bag when I go to gun dog park once a week or so. My cargo shorts don't carry training big bumpers and pigeons well at all!

The bolded part= Truth. Preach it Brother!

Cargos were never really in style anyway, so how can they be out of style? They're ubiquitous because they are useful. Form is following function. They're about utility more than anything.

Aye.

Bathroom breaks would be a serious pita. I'm not even going to bother looking close enough to see if they have a fly.

I've decided these bro rompers are some kind of infantilizing of males consistent with the general eradication efforts of the culture at large.

I noticed today that even my swim shorts have cargo pockets. It's much easier to pull wet bills out of a cargo pocket than it is pulling them out of that mesh waistband pouch.

I'm sitting in a bar at a private party listening to live music from a gal who grew up near me in Pennsylvania. Great voice. Anyway, I'm wearing cargo shorts and drinking draft beer.

I have been wearing cargo shorts all day. They hold phone, tobacco, pipe, and other paraphernalia in convenient fashion.

I've been wearing cargo shorts since slightly before noon.

Before that, I was wearing a kilt.

The last four admissions of cargo wearing come as no surprise.

Not necessarily. Maybe we're just more comfortable in our clothes and thus get <you know it> more often.

I have no doubt that cargo shorts don't look as good as alternative, fitted shorts. I'm simply not trying to impress anyone while wearing them. It just doesn't matter to me. Today I wore cargo shorts to a Catholic school fundraiser. I just don't care.

Maybe.
But I saw the movie, Braveheart and as far as that goes it looks like kilts are the way to go.

Why no man should wear cargo shorts
