I've tried making mead twice. First time using Joe's Ancient Orange Mead recipe. Not sure if the fermenting temperature ran warmer than I thought or I needed to age even longer; but it end up tasting like sweet jet fuel. The other time was a mixed berry mead which I set up in the fermentor right before the wedding, 3 years later its still sitting there.

I have heard of Superstition Meadery but not the other. They look like they may be new. In the past, I have won medals at the Arizona Mead Cup but it looks like this competition may be no more (just info on 2105).
