Why I Don't Hate Country Music

The part of the church where the silliest things happen. Conversations that sound like they belong in the youth room will be moved here.

There's a line coco. And you just boot-scoot-boogied right over it.

Corb Lund. Yer welcome
Thank you Canada. Here's my favorite by Corb Lund and the Hurtin' Albertans.

How did I not know about this dude? I'm ashamed.
You're a Texan. He aint.

Lund sings the soundtrack of my youth. My dad used to complain about all the tools and equipment I broke. And he complained that I wore my hair too long (as in Lunds Hair in my Eyes Like a Highland Steer). Good Copenhagen, Truck Got Stuck, Cows Around, and Bible On the Dash also hit close to home.

Lund is the Canadian version of Hayes Carll. Or maybe Roger Miller if you're an old guy.
Corb used to play in one of the greatest Canadian indie bands ever, The Smalls. They were hard to define. Punk. Metal. Thrash. Jazz.
When they broke up around 2000/2001, Corb went back to his roots.
Now at a Corb Lund show you'll find Mohawks and cowboy hats standing side by side and singing along. It's a beautiful thing.

I've listened to him everyday since you made the first post. I haven't been this excited about something out of Canada since my first taste of poutine.
