Simple Pleasures

The part of the church where the silliest things happen. Conversations that sound like they belong in the youth room will be moved here.

Simple Pleasures

Post by hugodrax » Wed Apr 19, 2017 1:05 pm

You know the problem with this place? Nobody ever stops and talks about the simple pleasures in life. Like talking to the Judge or watching FredS fight his age old battle between loving everyone he can and killing everything in sight. Or watching TNLawPiper argue with a tree stump. I'm telling you, if that young man can just learn to chew tobacco and whittle with a Barlow knife, he'll make Governor one of these days. Isn't anybody else caused to smile broadly whenever Goose posts something beet-related? How can you not share that happiness with him? There is nothing the matter with a man that enjoys a good pickled beet and roast beef sandwich. I'm telling you, we're a motley brand of fools around here. Doesn't anybody enjoy these things?

Here, here! And also the heavenly olfactory pleasures of chicken manure.

Del may be Delusional, but I'll be damned if I'm going to let you call him a tree stump.

Absolutely! And back atcha!

If we can't have a hearty disagreement with our friends, then what are are good for?
=======================================

As for simple pleasures, a guy made a big show of flipping me off on the freeway today. I have no idea why... I didn't crowd his space or anything. He passed me, then slowed down to make his sign.

I can only assume that he was responding to my bumper sticker that says, "DEFUND PLANNED PARENTHOOD."

So happy that I made his day!

I'm expecting enough money from my book sales to buy a humidor by the end of the month.
