CPS Members Who Are Ridin' The Gravy Train

The part of the church where the silliest things happen. Conversations that sound like they belong in the youth room will be moved here.

"Good gravy" is one of the phrases I've adopted for use instead of swear words.

It may or may not be helping.
Isn't "good" gravy redundant? It's like saying end result or close proximity.
No, there is definitely bad gravy.
This is true. Any gravy from a jar is terrible in my experience. Homemade from the drippings of cooked meat is the absolute best.
Hmmm. It's not like I eat a lot of gravy, so I'll take yours words for it. I just don't think I've ever had bad gravy. Am I blessed?
Yes you are blessed. It matters which starch you use to thicken it.

I don't fault people for enjoying an abundance of financial "security." Money surely can make this life a whole lot easier.
Money?

We're talking gravy and trains, dude. Keep up.

Red eye gravy with ham and grits, SOS, Biscuits and gravy with eggs right on the top, ya know. Stuff like that.
The thread title mentions nothing about gravy as food, and the term "gravy train" has always meant, and still denotes money, or wealth.

I rode the gravy train when I was a single man in the Air Force - free eats,(often covered with gravy),free room and board, plenty of walkin' around money.Plus a large dirt bike, with trailer and a '74 Dodge dart to pull it.Gave a whole new meaning to living high on the hog, especially being stationed in Alabama. Yeeha!
Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life.

Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. Ecc.12:13

I get up, walk two steps, fall down and get up again only to repeat the same.

Good gravy, gravy is good!
As a long time amateur cook, I learned to make sawmill, white, brown and other gravies and rouxs. Then I learned that most gravy is a version of the French bechamel sauce which they got from Renaissance Italy. So the gravy predates the train. Gravy is good history too! As my daddy says "I bet it'd be good on ice cream."
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal

And if you don't like Johnny Cash.... You don't git no gravy!

This is JC, singing OBS live at San Quentin. I did not realize that he played his own harmonica riffs at live shows.
