Absolutely Useless Facts About Yourself, No One Cares About

The part of the church where the silliest things happen. Conversations that sound like they belong in the youth room will be moved here.

I use the same freezer at work that belonged to Noble Prize Winner Rosalyn Yalow.

Marlon Perkins and I once both waited for our wives outside the ladies' restroom at the St. Louis airport.

I'm directly related to Humphrey Bogart. He and my grandmother were first cousins.

My feet are weird, my second and third toes on both feet are slightly webbed (No it does not help me swim better, I've heard that to many times).

My dad's family are hillbillies.

I have an Aunt Elli Mae and an Uncle Bobby Joe, and my grandma chewed tobacco all her life. Mostly Twist.

Okay... that's slightly more interesting than the rules require. But not by much.

Reportedly, I'm a distant cousin of Ralph Waldo Emerson; through my father's mother's father James Emerson Flynn, who was born in the same part of Northern Ireland as Errol Flynn. I'd rather be related to Errol, but can't prove that one. Come to think of it, I can't prove Ralph Waldo either; I only have Grandma's word for it.

OH NO! I've just noticed that I've broken my personal determination to NEVER post in The Youth Room. Is forgiveness possible?

I've met three to-be billionaires in my life -- Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and Andy Viterbi. (It didn't rub off.)

One of my great grandfathers donated most of the land that The University of Notre Dame is built on and he is one of the first buried in the cemetary in the middle of campus.

I have always loved this little fact and it is the reason for my love for Notre Dame sports, but nobody else is ever impressed by it.

Wouldn't have anything to do with your Michigan address, would it?

Oh, I am sure it does! That and the fact that I am not Catholic. There are a few Notre Dame fans around here. It helps that the back up QB is from about 15 miles away and goes to our church.

Forgiveness? Sure. Your Gentleman of the Briar title could be in jeopardy however.

I worked a special detail at work when President Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Vice-President Al Gore And Tipper Gore came to town on Bill Clinton's 50th birthday. I met, spoke to, and shook hands with all four on the airport tarmac before they boarded their planes to leave.
