Reportedly, I'm a distant cousin of Ralph Waldo Emerson; through my father's mother's father James Emerson Flynn, who was born in the same part of Northern Ireland as Errol Flynn. I'd rather be related to Errol, but can't prove that one. Come to think of it, I can't prove Ralph Waldo either; I only have Grandma's word for it.

One of my great grandfathers donated most of the land that The University of Notre Dame is built on and he is one of the first buried in the cemetary in the middle of campus.

I have always loved this little fact and it is the reason for my love for Notre Dame sports, but nobody else is ever impressed by it.

Oh, I am sure it does! That and the fact that I am not Catholic. There are a few Notre Dame fans around here. It helps that the back up QB is from about 15 miles away and goes to our church.
