Lesson learned this time: I got the wrong faux ivory material (light plate covers, thanks FredS!). This is my second go using them and the first one worked great, but this plate came from a different factory and was made of a more flexible material. The flexibility would be wonderful for their intended purpose (I've cracked a few in my time), but they're rubbish when it comes to turning and sanding. It was a fight the whole way through! It wouldn't cut crisply at all! Oh well! I'm only out $1.50 for the other three I got.

A JAG Rusticated Pot With a Touch of Prince
I couldn't help but mesh two shapes on this one. It looked good on paper, so I gave it a shot. I'm unaware of a shape that pairs a Pot with a longer, tapered, slightly bent stem of a Prince. I'd like to give this frankenpipe it's rightful name if there is one. At the final moment I turned to call the dogs back from the neighbor's yard and boogered up the A in the stamp, but I'm otherwise very pleased with how it turned out.

That is a common traditional shape although a saddle bit is more common. I remember several Barling pipes in that shape and Savinelli still makes one, I believe.

My pipes are finally starting to shrink. It might be that I hate turning so much of the block into shavings or it may be that I'm a durability minded fellow, but most of my earlier pipes have been quite hefty.
This one is more elegant and comes in at just over an ounce, 1.114 to be exact.
Length: 6in.
Bowl Diameter: 1 3/8in.
Bowl Height: 1 1/2in.
Shank Diameter: 1/2in.
Chamber Diameter: 3/4in.
Chamber Depth: 1 1/4in.
Airway: 5/32

I'm glad someone else thought it was a good shape to make. The more I look at it, the more I like it. I'll revisit this shape again in the future.
