Off for a week...

Post by JMG » Mon Nov 27, 2017 7:01 am

I'm leaving at 4:15 am to head to the hangar for a dawn departure. Me and some other guys will fly to another town, then take a 3 hour drive, then a 2 hour boat ride to an active volcano island where a new missionary is building his house to begin ministering to the people there (and you all thought I was nuts for living in just the jungle.) Please pray for safety all around and a productive week of work. And please pray for my girls as I'm away.

My BIL & nephews came down the other day for a late Thanksgiving celebration. Before I fed them, I put them to work carrying boxes to the right rooms and arranging/rearranging furniture to suit Mrs FredS. They assumed the long cardboard mailing tube in the corner held a fly rod. They were gobsmacked when I pulled out the PNG arrows and told them your story. They're aged 14, 17, and 22 and nominally Catholic. They'd never heard such a tail. Then I showed them a picture of the G family with their Hewa friends on our fridge. And the one of the guy with a coat hanger hook through his nose. Uncle FredS earned a few cool points for having a friend like JMG.

I pray often for you buddy.

Your definition of being "off for a week" is a lot cooler and better than my idea.

Just lifted you up to our Maker. Be great if you can post some pictures of your trip; where you went.

Thanks for the prayers, fellas. I got back today. It was a good trip. We got a lot of work done with thankfully no major injuries. I got a couple infected cuts, but working on getting those cleared up. I'll try to post some pics soon. It was a beautiful place, but hot as turd.
