I've got a super long clay that I rather enjoy smoking. Only problem is I'm about out if extra long pipe cleaners.

Very much like clays, save for two aspects: the heat of the bowl and the feel of the stem when clenched between my teeth. Also, I've somehow gotten it in my head to smoke only staight Virginias in them. I smoke straight Virginia very infrequently. Probably should try to rid myself of this affectation.

Anyway, the fun thing with clays (for me) has been finding historically accurate renditions, or even better, clays formed in the original moulds.

Still love clays myself.

I should buy another one soon so that I can smoke it until it breaks.

I was looking at clays just yesterday.
I'm talking the boss into buying a pair from Lepeltier Pipes with some of our Costco windfall.
I'd like to give clays a try before diving into Meers.

Positive smoking qualities aside.
I just think they look cool.

I was gonna chuck some in the box-pass but I didn't want to deal with wrapping them up so they wouldn't break.

I often smoke clays. I have a pair of prugnauds from France. One has a vulcanized bit and one has an acrylic bit. They're excellent smokers.

I was gifted a clay inspired briar pope that I plan on smoking heartily. That count? :)

I love carved pipes. I hope it's Leo X.

I occasionally smoke a short clay tavern pipe. I was recently given a clay pipe with a reed stem. I haven't smoked that one.

I like my clays. The Pelltier ones are actually porcelain, which never smoked as well for me. I have a 15" and an 8" in clay tavern pipes. Both smoke well. My favorite is a Peterson system in clay that was made in their London factory which closed in around 1960. It's thicker walled than most clays, so it doesn't get so hot, and the vulcanite bit is easier on the teeth.

I just received a glazed clay with a horn stem. Good smoker, but I wear a smoking glove, when use it because of the heat. It helps slowly sipping, than puffing.

I enjoy clay pipes. I bought 2 at the last pipe show. They are small, so it will be a short smoke.

I have a couple clay's. My chief complaint, other than I feel like I have to be super careful in handling it - lest it break - is that I can't hold it by the bowl because it gets so hot! I admit, I have sensitive hands to cold and hot ! Another complaint: the bowls I have are very small. Very short smokes!

"While you are smoking, it is not wise to handle the bowl...unless you have
asbestos fingers. The bowl will get quite hot, certainly much hotter than a
briar and hotter than meerschaum too. The best way to hold a clay pipe with
a stem of any length is to rest the stem on your ring finger, curling your
index and middle fingers over top. Once you have found the pipe's centre of
gravity, this method becomes effortless. Pipes with shorter stems are
generally intended to be clamped in the mouth, but if you don't like to use
your teeth while smoking you can hold the part of the stem closest to the
bowl between your thumb and forefinger and rest the stem on the knuckles of
your other fingers. Many pipes with shorter stems are equipped with a
"dewdrop" hanging either from the bottom of the bowl or at the point where
the bowl and stem meet - this is intended for gripping, and on a well
designed pipe will stay remarkably cool during the course of a smoke.
