Cool, bro. Thanks. I have a slight interest in "beyond the typical" flower photography...durangopipe wrote: ↑Sat Apr 22, 2017 9:54 pmThe camera was a Fuji X E1.Skip wrote:Details: camera and settings, please.
The lens for both of these photos was the Fuji XF 60mm f/2.4 macro.
Natural light.
ISO was set at 200, camera tripod mounted, aperture priority--choosing the aperture to get the depth of field I want and letting the camera select the shutter speed. With the tripod, shutter speed is irrelevant (unless it's breezy). I try to shoot flowers on calm days.
Aperture for the first one was likely f/16 or f/22; second one f/5.6 or f/8, and I don't recall the camera-selected shutter speeds.
(1/3 stop over/under bracket.)
The first one was Photoshopped to isolate the flower against a digitally created black background and a digital filter was used to soften some detail. The second image is pretty much what came out of the camera.
When I have some time I'll dig up the files on my computer if you want more info, Skip. These two images were already uploaded to my Photobucket account. These are compressed files.
If I can stop buying pipes, my next camera will be another Fuji. Next one, full frame.
I used to work medium format and a 4X5 view camera when I was shooting film.
All that gear is long gone.
