Goodbye Apple. Welcome back BlackBerry
Immediately after my lease was over on my Apple iPhone 6s Plus, I decided to cut all ties with Apple products. I believe the catalyst of that decision was the revelation of Apple throttling older iPhones to increase sales of newer, more expensive models. I went ahead and bought out my phone at the end of the lease and sold it.
I’m now awaiting the arrival of my new BlackBerry KEYOne, which seems to be getting positive reviews from those who own one. Do any of you use one?

Never have liked Apple anything, mostly due to the exclusivity of all the stuff. My teen daughters do. I think they like Apple better simply because I use Android.

Re: Goodbye Apple. Welcome back BlackBerry
I'm Apple loyal. I've had several generations of their phones and other products with no decline in performance or reliability. They work when other products I use through my employer don't and I've never had cause to curse them. I really appreciate the cross functionality between my phone, tablet, and laptop, too. It's all worth the extra money to me.
My work phone is a fancy Android and I find it to be a royal PIA. It is unreliable, spontaneously changes its own settings, and has horrible sound quality on the phone. My previous Droids all had similar problems.

This is odd. My iPhone 6S crapped out today. Battery won't charge. Any local shop that actually has batteries (there's been a run on them since Apple fouled their nest and had to offer replacement batteries for old phones at $30) wants the phone for 5-6 days for the 'repair'.
#Notgonnadoit
Went online and bought an Android (some sort of Samsung Galaxy) for less than $160 all-in and will go by the Sprint store to pick it up this evening. The 6S is my second iPhone and I've loved them - I've had to force a re-start exactly three times in six years. They're just so damned expensive it's no longer worth it for me.

I'm a big Android fan, but Mac when it comes to computers. My 6 year old MacBook pro was crazy expensive, but it runs like new still. I do a lot of audio production and graphic/video work and it's better than the new PCs at work. It's also broken 3 times over that 6 years. Apple has fixed it for free every time without Apple Care.

Pretty sure we have to wait for mid to late spring for BlackBerry pie. Yeah sure, apple waits until fall. We all know that.

See, that's the thing. With Apple you are talking about one integrated, closed loop. The phone is the software. They have you.
With Android, you have multiple choices for hardware.

I went Samsung several years ago because of price and ease of use (man I miss my flip phone). But my wife wanted what my daughter and son had...I-Phones. They have all had problems with their phones but won't give them up. My wife is on her 3rd battery for her I-Phone 6. She said she is going to switch next rotation but its not till spring...bet she changes her mind and sticks with the I-Phone.

Meh. iCloud, iTunes, iPad, iPhone ... the integration works for me. I'm sticking with Apple.

What's it like to be rich?
J/K. I'm always looking for value. Android is that. Apple just isn't worth the squeeze to my wallet.

Being able to write equipment off has an impact on it's affordability. Also, building your business around technology (not discounting Skips artistry here, but the tech is important) elevates function and reliability over cost.

I'm just talking about Joe Schmoe. Skips a pro. I see the value in building a premium system and premium cost if it will give you a good return and for him it does. Industry standards play a part too.I just can't justify it as a casual user.
Now, let me get back to my .dwg that is taking FOREVER to regen on a system that was built to handle it. Purge, audit, save-as, and pay fees to Autodesk (cause everyone else that I work with does too).
