Re: Cataracts
I've escorted my wife and both parents down that trail. I was really impressed at the ease and speed of recovey and the lense options they have now are almost sci-fi cool.
My day is coming, though.

Yes I had a Cadillac in one eye.
They are fairly easy to fix now.

Re: Cataracts
I seem to remember the eye doc saying something about my having a mild case of it already. I just turned 63.
We older guys (and gal pipe smokers) are like used cars. Leaking oil, suspension wearing out, and a rod is knocking in the engine. Soon the wheels will fall off and that'll be it.

Re: Cataracts
Been there. I had very good results. One difference that surprised me was the difference in how white looked. In between having the eyes done, I noticed that with the completed eye a piece of paper was very bright. With the other eye it looked like dirty snow. My vision improved dramatically as well.

Having helped with my Great Aunt’s surgeries in late 1980s and my father in law’s surgeries in January of this year; I’d say the whole process is a lot easier today; he only needs readers now not bifocals and if his mind was right he could be back behind the wheel.

Re: Cataracts
Next annual VA physical I will seek to schedule an eye exam and seek to get a cataracts procedure.
