A substitute for PS Cherry Bonbon

Post by Hovannes » Thu Dec 21, 2017 7:26 pm

Sadly, it's gone. I enjoyed how it would ghost a pipe when followed up with a hearty Latakia.
I think I've tried most Cherry blends over the years but Cherry Bonbon was my favorite as far as taste goes(and of course the ghost.)
Why did PS drop it? It was a widely distributed PS bulk blend, at least on the West Coast.
What is a decent substitute?

Have you tried the storied Cult Blood Red Moon? Sinister name, but a thoroughly agreeable cherry aromatic with the additional essence of chocolate. Tastes just like, just like a red Tootsie Pop.

I also heard two good reviews to Lane's Dark Red in the course of a single week. That's one I never smoked. Bear in mind that I've never smoked Cherry Bonbon either, but I can tell you cherry aromatics I like.

Boswell's Pennsylvania Dutch Treat is an agreeable cherry aromatic.

I'm not actually a dick, you know. I'm a professional entertainer. Before that I was a librarian and before that I was a tobacconist. Being friendly and helpful is something I've been turning on my entire life. I'm almost alarmingly cheerful and real life. I simply don't respond well to working class verbal diarrhea masquerading as folksy wisdom.

Keep things tobacco related and I'm a goddamn pussycat.

Have you sustained a massive head injury? Last summer I had a cerebral blood clot and it caused me to say things that I thought made sense and were witty but were, in fact, nonsense. I ask from a place of concern.

Praying,

PS Cherry Bonbon was a black Cavendish, with an over the top cherry flavor, yet not an artificial tasting cherry flavor---it tasted much like it smelled and could ghost a pipe after couple of bowls. The haunting would remain through two or three bowls of a latakia which was, IMHO much of this blend's beauty, Cherry poltergeist aren't hard to come by but I find those blends leave a heavily artificial spook behind, sort of like Luden's cough drops.

I would say the same thing about CAO Cherry Bomb. You might consider it as a substitute. I don't smoke it straight, but it makes a great cherry mixer (my favorite being 2:1 OJK:CherryBomb).

Can you get CAPT Black Cherry? My absolute favorite cherry, it is so over the top cherry twizzler sweet tangy goodness. And ladies swoon over it. Of course, right after you think you still have it, they tell you how much they loved their grandfather.
