Anyone Have A Bit Of McClelland Bulk No. 5105 Stoved Virginia?

Post by Goose55 » Thu Apr 19, 2018 10:44 am

Anyone Have A Bit Of McClelland Bulk No. 5105 Stoved Virginia they can sell me, or trade for? I want to try blending it w/ 5100 to see if I can make 5100 taste like McCl Aurora. I don;t need much. Less than an ounce.

Anyone know where I might find some?

Low and behold when I searched for McCl 5105 Stoved Virginia on Pipes and Cigars this came up, a new Sutcliff "McClelland" bulk 5105 replacement. Could it be that Sutcliff is going to be making other McClelland replacements?

So, I ordered an ounce to experiment with

Used to mix 5100 and 5105 as a base VA to build English blends on.

I think 3:1 was my base. Tasted great by itself too.

I would like Sutliff to succeed, but I am doubtful.

I still have some of this from the TF.

My goodness, old boy. You schlepted 3:1 to the PNG and back again? Sounds like it might suck but you Ike the jar.

No, no...I didn't take it with me. I put it in my cellar box. It might be my next to open up though.

There is also a "replacement", sort off, for 5100:

I wonder how is the comparison. I never had a chance to try original 5100.
