So in order to combat PAD and PTAD I've decided I am not buying any new pipes or tobacco until I go to the Kansas City Pipe show in September. That being said, I'm also trying to smoke the same blend several days in a row to really get to know it before moving on to another blend. I think right now I have about 14-15 different blends on hand (not nearly enough!) so I've been kinda scattered brained and never spend enough time with a blend to learn how it reacts to different levels of dryness, packing, different pipes, etc.
I've also started a journal to keep track of the blends I try, what I smoke them in, and some general tasting notes. Anyone else keep a journal?

Smart idea. I didn't really begin to understand flavor until I did the same thing. I smoked entire tins exclusively before moving on.
