The Special Occasion tin or tins...

Post by Bloodhound » Wed Sep 19, 2018 2:20 pm

I have three tins that I am saving for a special occasion smoke. That is, these three are for the most part off limits and will not be cracked open until a special, as yet undetermined special occasion. I had five, but two occasions were special and two tins were opened.

The three remaining tins are
1) C&D Blockade Runner, its dated 2009
2) Old painted tin lid/enameled Presbyterian Mixture
3) SG BothyFlake (Just got this one, so it is likely to be the last one I open so that it can get some age on it)

I may also add to the number of Special Occasion tins if I come across something worthy.

These are tins that I hope will enhance a special occasion or the memory of it

No. No I don't. I've heard of this concept before. I hope you include me when the time presents itself.

I'll bring the whiskey.

This makes me wonder what other super powers UB has. It's there. Calling to you every day. Yet, you don't pop just one tin? Really? I cannot fathom it.

I have every year from 1994 to 2006. Then I have another couple from ensuing years as well but I don't remember off the top of my head what they are. I have two footlockers full of tins that I need to get around to smoking.

Well, sort of. I have a tin of Balkan Sobranie (the recent version) and one of Bohemian Scandal (and a couple other GLP from around that time - maybe Raven's Wing and Tribute? Not sure). I say sort of because I had the idea to save these for a special occasion but realized that I probably won't smoke them as I just don't care for the latakia. Someone who really appreciates them should have them.
Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. Isaiah 55:6,7 ESV

I look forward to it. Perhaps next year, God willing. Same place, and I'll probably have the tin of FMotT that I bought there this past March.

I had a tin of 2010 Squadron Leader, but, I cracked it with in a day of getting my hands on it and it is gone now . . . .

I do have a tin of 2014 HH Latakia Flake saved, but, when I go through the tin I am working on now I will probably crack it too.
