JMcP’s Elbow Patches

Post by JohnnyMcPiperson » Sun Nov 25, 2018 5:06 pm

Just did a new blend for myself, calling it Elbow Patches:

3 parts Oriental
3 parts Red Va
2 parts Red Va Cavendish
1 part Latakia
Cased in Vanilla

Will report back on results, I may coin some of it too...

I thought this was going to be an Eczema thread .

Talk to me about your casing method.

And are you gonna put it in the baby squeezer coin machine we both have?

I'm saving my first run for something periquey.

But the casing. This intrigues me. Go.

The casing is just vanilla extract and distilled water in a small glass spray bottle.

Great blend name. Interested to see how this turns out.

For an educator, yer being quite dim.

Wake up, maker of Jeffersonian!

Shake off your sloth!

Stop being a shortbus rider for two minutes for FredS sake.

Ratio of vanilla to water? What sort of vanilla? Where and when was it applied? To the whole blend at end of mixing or sometime during the complex of this part to that part?

STOP BEING SHALLOW!

1 part vanilla extract to about 10 parts distilled water, sprayed on the whole blend and then mixed in a glass dish and left to dry overnight after three coats an hour apart each time. The tobacco was fairly dry to begin with so this was a dual purpose to rehydrate the tobacco as well, had I not wanted to rehydrate, I would have put the vanilla in vodka or something instead.

I’m probably not as precise with my measurements as you would like since I’m mostly just making this for myself as an experiment.

My goal is something akin to JFH Grey Flannel, but with my own twist and ideas. The ingredients of Grey Flannel listed on TR was my starting point though.
